Bayhealth Cancer Institute in Delaware
As part of its commitment to leading cancer care in the region, Bayhealth established the Bayhealth Cancer Institute to increase the oncology service line’s focus on clinical research, care coordination, cancer education and prevention.
Financial support for the Bayhealth Cancer Institute is provided by private contributions and fundraising efforts, grants and Bayhealth, Inc.
The Institute is led by Rishi Sawhney, MD, a member of Bayhealth Hematology/Oncology Associates. Dr. Sawhney’s goals are to:
- Boost clinical research activities
- Provide clinical oversight of cancer outreach, research and education activities
- Increase screening opportunities and other public services
Cancer Institute Programs
The Bayhealth Cancer Institute is designed to enhance clinical trials, community outreach and public education services. It funds important cancer-related activities not covered by hospital charges and insurance plans, including:
