Breast Care Services
Bayhealth is pleased to offer a resource for women with questions about their breast care. We provide a Breast Care Service staffed by a registered nurse who is responsible for expediting the diagnosis of women with abnormal mammogram readings.
The Breast Care Coordinator also provides education, support and guidance for women at this particularly stressful part of their lives. The Breast Care Coordinator is located on the Dover campus and can be reached at 302-744-6773.
Throughout the year, Bayhealth offers several free and/or low-cost screenings for cancers of the breast, skin, prostate and colorectal. Participants with abnormal findings are referred to physicians of their choice for follow-up.
Bayhealth also has a Cancer Screening Navigator dedicated to reaching community members and promoting cancer screening. The coordinator is part of a statewide network of screening advocates and care coordinators.

Bayhealth also has contracts with local hospice organizations to provide inpatient hospice care. Care is overseen by the hospice organization and a hospice nurse visits the patient each day to oversee care and make recommendations in keeping with hospice philosophy.
