Bayhealth proudly announces that John F. Fink, MD, has joined Bayhealth Family Medicine, Smyrna. He is welcomed to the practice by Christina Bovelsky, MD, and nurse practitioner Sandi Voss.
The practice is part of the Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of highly trained physicians, their clinical staff, and an administrative support team that operates practices throughout central and southern Delaware.
“We are delighted that Dr. Fink has joined our practice,” said Dr. Bovelsky. “He is well respected in the community for delivering quality, comprehensive family medicine services to patients of all ages.”
Dr. Fink earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, in 1997 and a bachelor’s degree in biology, cum laude, from Fairfield University in Connecticut in 1993. He completed both his residency and internship in family medicine at the David Grant Medical Center in Travis AFB, Calif., where he was named Family Medicine Resident of the Year in 2000.
The Dover Air Force Base originally brought Dr. Fink to the area where he was stationed at the Family Medicine Clinic in 2000. He went on to care for patients at Family Medicine of Smyrna/Clayton from 2003-2014. Dr. Fink serves as the medical director of the Cadia Rehabilitation in Dover, Del., – a position he has held since 2003 and will step down from in June 2014.
Dr. Fink is board certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Board of Family Physicians. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is among his many accomplishments, in addition to being named Medical Director of the Year by the Delaware Long Term Care Association in 2007.
He holds various leadership roles at Bayhealth Medical Center including membership on its Board of Directors and serves as chair, vice chair and member of various committees of the Board.
Prior to joining Bayhealth, Dr. Fink was a family physician at Family Medicine of Smyrna/Clayton.
