Bayhealth leaders joined with friends and peers to honor Stephany Wescott, RN, who retired after 43 years as a nurse at Bayhealth Milford Memorial.

Wescott began her career at Milford Memorial Hospital on October 28, 1968, in the medical-surgical unit of the “old first floor.”  When the new wing of Milford Memorial was opened, Wescott moved upstairs to the 3 East Medical-Surgical Unit and eventually to the 2 West Medical-Surgical Unit.  As a medical-surgical preceptor, she helped train many new nurses.  Wescott leaves behind a legacy with the many nurses who learned their clinical skills and nursing values from her.  She also is credited with promoting a culture of nursing excellence and teamwork on her nursing unit.

In her retirement, Wescott plans to spend more time with her husband of 40 years and with her three children.

“For more than 43 years, Stephany has proven to be a valuable, loyal employee who always demonstrated a commitment to her work and her organization.  Bayhealth has been fortunate to have had you on its team.  She will truly be missed by her peers, our patients, and the entire Bayhealth Community,” said Bayhealth President & CEO Terry Murphy, FACHE.
