Together with the Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals, Bayhealth proudly announces the annual celebration of the work performed by cardiovascular practitioners and managers, and the contribution these individuals make to healthcare. Professionals in this field include administrators, managers, supervisors, nurses, technologists, and technicians.
In preparation for Cardiovascular Professionals (CVP) Week, Jacque Thomas, RCIS, Advanced Cardiovascular Technologist, has spearheaded a number of celebratory activities. Each day in the week will feature special meals, gifts, and opportunities for fellowship among the Cardiovascular Service Line staff.
The committee will also sponsor a coloring contest for staff children and children attending the Bayhealth Childcare Center, with the winner taking home tickets to a local roller skating rink.
While the week of February 10-16, 2013, marks the official celebration, Bayhealth recognizes that cardiovascular professionals work year-round to educate the public about heart health. In 2012, staff volunteered their time at community events such as the American Heart Association’s Annual Heart Walk, Go Red for Women Luncheon & Health Fair, and the Southern Delaware Heart Ball.
In addition, our staff participates in local health fairs each year. Recent venues where the Cardiac Service Line has set up displays and provided educational materials include the following: Bayhealth Family Wellness Expo; 55+ Expo; Delaware Women's Expo; Milford Memorial Hospital Fair; Milford Bud and Bug Festival.
Recently, Cardiac staff attended the Dover High School Passport to Success event, where they spoke with students about potential careers in healthcare, with a focus on cardiovascular professions. Students are also welcomed into the Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology Lab via the Bayhealth Explorers Program for an informational tour and demonstration of the equipment.
