Bayhealth is grateful for a generous donation of baby blankets and gowns given by Victory Chapter No. 15, Delaware Order of the Eastern Star. Bob and Maria Peterson and Sue Kennedy presented the gifts to Terry Schrenker, Senior Manager of Volunteer Services, and Sharon Conley, Volunteer Coordinator.
Mrs. Peterson crocheted and knit the blankets from the softest yarn she could find. She hand-stitched lace and ribbons onto the baby gowns. Each piece takes two-three evenings’ worth of time to complete.
Kennedy, Worthy Matron of Victory Chapter 15, described her organization’s love for children and dedication to charitable work supporting this segment of our community. Over the last few years, Kennedy and Victory Chapter 15 have donated hundreds of baby caps and blankets to Bayhealth. The gifts are given to children born at Bayhealth Kent General and Milford Memorial.
“These gifts will help us swaddle every Bayhealth baby with warmth and care,” said Schrenker. “We are very grateful to Victory Chapter 15 and all of those who tirelessly knit, crochet, and sew such beautiful items.”
