During the week of February 9-15, 2014, Bayhealth recognizes our cardiovascular professionals: administrators, managers, supervisors, nurses, technologists and technicians.
At Bayhealth, cardiovascular professionals support the work we do to keep our patients’ hearts healthy and strong.
Caring for complex parts of the body, like the heart, requires a large team to ensure high quality, comprehensive care.
Some on this team - physicians, nurses, pharmacists—are familiar to the public. Others are less known and their work not easily visible to patients and families.
They are key to all aspects of care delivery within the cardiovascular setting. Cardiovascular services practitioners include those professionals working in the Invasive, Noninvasive, Echo, Stress, EKG, and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Departments.
During Cardiovascular Professionals Week and throughout the month of February, members of our care team are raising awareness of heart disease and stroke. Together, these diseases affect more women than men and are responsible for 1 in 3 deaths each year.
The national theme for this year’s celebration is “Cardiovascular Professionals: Allied in Excellence!” This theme emphasizes the work performed together in achieving the highest quality health care every day.
During the week, Debbie Warshawsky, RN, MSN, ACNP-BC, nurse practitioner for the cardiovascular and electrophysiology laboratory, will present a lecture for critical care and cardiovascular staff titled “Parfait: Peeling Back the Layers in a Case Study Utilizing Multiple Cardiovascular Services.”
The purpose of this lecture is to highlight the multiple professionals that support and provide the expert care provided to cardiac patients at Bayhealth.
Please join us in recognizing our cardiovascular staff working together every day to provide the highest quality health care to our patients.
