Bayhealth has joined other Delaware businesses, government offices, and civic and health care organizations in supporting the American Heart Association’s efforts to fight heart disease and stroke during the month of February.
Bayhealth Kent General and Milford Memorial are illuminated with red lights as part of this year’s “City Goes Red” initiative. During daylight hours, you will see a red dress cut-out in front of the hospitals as well as many buildings throughout central and southern Delaware.
Bayhealth hopes to raise awareness that heart disease is the number one cause of death in women. In the U.S., heart disease causes 1 in 3 women’s deaths each year, killing, on average, 1 woman per minute.
Many risk factors for heart disease are things we can control: diet, smoking, cholesterol, and blood pressure. Bayhealth encourages you to speak with your health care provider to prevent heart disease and stroke.
