Is the Scholarship benefit on a calendar or school year (semester) basis?
A school year. Funds can be awarded EVERY semester you are in school until you reach your maximum dollars of
$3,000.00/academic year.
Can I use the Scholarship to attend associate degree programs?
No, you must have completed the first two years of an associate degree program and are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program *will accept AD partnerships with BS colleges/universities.
What types of degrees are included?
Our scholarship supports in relation to tuition policy and only supports positions that are or will be needed at Bayhealth:

What happens if I leave, or transfer out of an eligible position before my 3-year work commitment ends?
Length of employment is taken into account. Any employment less than the 3-year time commitment is subject to the pro-rated amount.
Is there a cap on how many classes I can take?
The Scholarship will provide funds for up to $3,000.00/academic year.
Can I use BHMC Tuition Assistance Program and The Bayhealth Scholarship?
Yes, Bayhealth employees are eligible to use both! Tuition Assistance Program funds must be distributed in full before the Scholarship can be accessed. Depending on eligibility, your degree completion can be entirely a combination of Scholarship and tuition reimbursement (taxable income). No stacking of time for payback requirements
Do I have to be a full-time employee to be eligible?
You have to be an active status working 0.6 FTE or greater.
When does the 3-year work commitment time frame begin?
The work commitment clock begins as soon as you complete your degree.
My degree requires a practicum at the end of my program. What will happen to my Scholarship if my practicum is in another city?
You must maintain your .6 FTE employee benefits-eligible status to continue receiving the Scholarship. ( Employee LOA Policy) If you use PTO time while you are away, you will maintain your Scholarship. However, if you do not maintain your employment status, you will not receive the Scholarship.
After I receive my degree I will be a Nurse Practitioner. Am I still subject to the work commitment?
Yes, a nurse working in the role of NP qualifies as an “RN working in the organization.”
