This is a service coordinated by the American Heart Association to provide information regarding stroke, how it affects the lives of survivors and their families. Participants can subscribe to the Stroke Connection Magazine for free.
National Aphasia Association
Provides an educational packet of information about coping with aphasia which includes a listing of support groups.
National Easter Seal Society
Easter Seals offers high quality programs for children, vocational training and employment, and medical rehabilitation services to children and adults with disabilities.
National Family Caregivers Association
Maintains an information clearinghouse for family care-givers and directs people to appropriate resources.
National Stroke Association
Provides educational materials on all aspects of stroke, including stroke screenings. Offers programs and support activities for stroke survivors and their caregivers.
Provides assistance to patient who cannot afford their pre- scription medication by helping qualified individuals to enroll in existing patient assistance programs that provide medicine free-of-charge. Individual must meet sponsor- ing program criteria. Medicine is sent the patient‘s health care provider.
National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses
Non-profit corporation serving facilities that provide
lodging and other supportive services to patient and their families when confronted with medical emergencies.
National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives
Association of over 3300 attorneys and paralegals who rep- resent Social Security and Supplemental Security Income claimants.
Partnership for Prescription Assistances
Works to increase awareness of and enrollment in patient assistance programs. Sponsors a toll-free helpline and serves as a single point of access to nearly 500 prescription assistance programs.

National non-profit organization that serves as a liaison be- tween the patient and their insurer, employer and/or credi- tors to resolve insurance, job retention and /or debt crisis matters relative to their diagnosis through case manager, doctors, and attorneys.
Provides local support to stroke patients and their fami- lies. Meets the 2nd Thursday of every other month from 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. in the gym at Milford Rehab, Milford Memorial Hospital.
