After graduating from University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine, Dr. Wendy S. Newell chose to practice medicine in the State of Delaware. Dr. Newell has focused much of her medical interest and abilities on the care of breast cancer patients. She has completed breast cancer education at the School of Breast Oncology at Emory University, attended Harvard Medical School's Breast Cancer Education, and attends annual meetings for the American Society of Breast Surgeons. Dr. Newell was instrumental in developing Bayhealth "Go Pink" day. Her busy general surgery practice sees a variety of patients for thyroid disease, gallbladder disease, hernias, and disorders of the GI tract. She prides herself on providing cancer patients with excellent surgical care following current cancer guidelines.
She is on the board for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and the Bayhealth Cancer Institute. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Bayhealth Breast Program Work Group, and the Bayhealth Clinical Oversight Committee. Dr. Newell continually strives to raise the standard of care and is devoted to many of her patients.
