Are you a candidate?

Wounds can cause severe health risks and may result in life-threatening infections, possibly amputation and debilitating health problems.

With the state-of-the-art treatment available at the Bayhealth Wound Care Center, people with slow-healing wounds no longer have to suffer. Our approach can heal wounds that have resisted other treatments, and help you avoid loss of limbs, reduce incidence of recurrence, and return to a higher quality of life.

If you suffer from a chronic or non-healing wound, speak with your physician about our Wound Care Center or call us directly at (302) 744-7500.  You may be a candidate for our outpatient program. If you are, the Wound Care Center will work with you and your doctor to deliver:

  • Advanced therapies
  • Proven clinical protocols
  • An individualized care plan with the most appropriate and effective treatments for your needs
  • Assessment and ongoing care by our wound care specialists, including a case manager who will oversee every aspect of your case
  • Thorough training for you and your family on caring for the wound at home and preventing the recurrence of wounds
  • Educational materials and resources on prevention, nutrition, hygiene and more
  • Ongoing communication so that you and your doctor stay up-to-date on all aspects of your healing
  • Hyperbaric oxygen chambers to provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to deliver high concentrations of oxygen to the blood stream and the wound bed, which rapidly accelerates the healing process
  • Weekly advanced treatment to heal your wound if HBOT is not needed
