RN Refresher Course
Bayhealth and the University of Delaware have joined in an educational partnership to create and offer the first online refresher course for registered nurses available through the University.

The course is offered in the spring, summer and fall semesters. It is designed to update and enhance the nursing knowledge and clinical skills of registered nurses presently ineligible for endorsement or reinstatement of licensure in Delaware because they have been inactive in nursing practice for five or more years.

With 167.25 hours of practice theory and clinical practice required, the course nearly triples the minimum criteria of 60 hours (20 theory hours plus 40 clinical hours) set forth by the Delaware Board of Nursing. Participants receive 87.25 hours of theory instruction and 80 supervised clinical hours. Both components must be completed within six months from the time of course registration.
