Bayhealth's Lifestyles Fitness Centers at Kent General and Milford Memorial Hospitals provide affordable, quality fitness and wellness programs to help you get in shape. Lifestyles follows the American College of Sports Medicine Standards - the highest in the industry. Lifestyles also belongs to the Medical Fitness Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American Council on Exercise. At Lifestyles, our exercise specialists are certified by the American Council on Exercise as Personal Trainers. They provide professional supervision of all fitness activities and services, and design individualized programs for people of all ages with diverse fitness goals: healthy adults, post-cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients, deconditioned and unconditioned adults, and adolescents desiring high-intensity sports conditioning programs. Programs consist of cardiovascular training, core training, resistance training and flexibility. Sometimes new participants start fitness programs too ambitiously, causing soreness or injury. Our trainers start slow, designing programs with a controlled progression of increasing difficulty. All adults first undergo a Preactivity Screening and Fitness Evaluation to inform the exercise specialist about medical conditions or risk factors before they can engage in fitness activities. Adults also share their fitness goals at this time to help the specialist create a program best suited to their needs. Lifestyles offers circuit/free weights, treadmills, stationary bikes, rowers, Stair Climbers, elliptical machines, locker rooms, towel service and more. Lifestyles - Kent also offers group exercise in the aerobics studio, massage therapy and personal training.
