Surgical Services at Bayhealth Medical Center includes General, Cardiovascular (Open Heart) and Thoracic Surgery, Orthopedic and Back surgery, ENT and Eye Surgery, Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery, Gynecological and Urological Surgery, Neurosurgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Minimally Invasive Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery, Endoscopic and Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgery, GI procedures that include Ph Manometry and Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy, Head and Neck Surgery, Interventional Pain Management and comprehensive Anesthesia Services.

The PeriOperative Services team is comprised of specialty educated and board certified physicians and surgeons, anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), Operating Room nurses, RN First Assistants, Certified First Assistants and Operating Room Technologists. The PeriAnesthesia Areas comprise the Day Surgery, PAT, Endoscopy and PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) and the team is comprised of RNs and LPNs.

The CVOR Team is comprised of Board Certified Surgeons, a Clinical Coordinator, RNs, and Physician Assistants. Many of these dedicated professionals have achieved and maintain specialty certification. This dedicated group of professionals works tirelessly to assure that patients served in our Day Surgery units, as well as inpatient Intensive Care, Intermediate Care and Medical-Surgical Units receive the best possible standard of care for their elective and emergency procedures. By utilizing the most up to date surgical technology available, including microscopes, lasers, and laparoscopic video technology, the goal is to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes towards recovery and their activities of daily living.
