Radiation Oncology
The Cancer Center at Dover is the first location in Delaware to offer the most versatile, precise and powerful tumor-destroying linear accelerator, the Trilogy.TM Trilogy uses robotics to accurately deliver stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS and SRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and 3-D conformal therapy.
The Cancer Center at Dover was also the first location in Delaware to offer Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT). IMRT is a sophisticated radiation technique for cancer treatment, delivering higher radiation doses to complex target areas. Bayhealth's physicians also use computer-generated 3-D planning to reduce dose to nearby normal tissues.
