Following graduation from Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Jonathan Kates was a surgical intern at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He completed an Orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Miami Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Kates was a former Assistant Professor and Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.
Dr Kates has been a team physician for Florida International University, Miami Dade Community College South Campus, and numerous high schools through out his career.
He was active in the Arthritis Foundation of Western Pa, and organized the annual “Bionic Golf Tournament” for people with hip and knee replacements.
Dr. Kates is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of Arthroscopy Associates of North America.
