Pharmacy Residency Program

Thank you for your interest in the postgraduate year one residency program at Bayhealth.

Our program is based on the ASHP Residency Learning System and is customized to meet the resident’s goals and interests. A variety of core rotations are offered in the following practice areas: ambulatory care, oncology, cardiology, infectious disease, critical care, rehabilitation, general medicine/nutrition, pharmacy management, and central pharmacy systems.  Several longitudinal rotations are also offered. In addition, the resident will have the opportunity to choose two electives from a variety of practice areas, such as pain management, emergency medicine, diabetes management, pharmacy informatics/economics, and advanced oncology. Also, there is the possibility of arranging offsite elective rotations to meet the resident’s practice interests. During the program, the resident will be required to complete a variety of activities including presenting an ACPE accredited lecture, conducting a Medication Use Evaluation, completing a residency research project, and providing clinical instruction to pharmacy students. The current staffing commitment for postgraduate year one residents is every third weekend and eight evening hours per every two-week pay period.
