Dr. Tooze was born in Rochester, NY and raised in Erie, PA. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA in 1973 and subsequently earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1979. He then completed a five year residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His residency included a 6-month rotation as Chief Resident at the Rothman Institute.
Dr. Tooze and his wife, Suzanne, moved to Dover, Delaware in July of 1984 to begin private practice and start a family. He enjoys living in "lower Delaware" and likes sailing and spending time at the beach.
Dr. Tooze is Board Certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is affiliated with Bayhealth Medical Center as well as the Delaware Surgery Center at Eden Hill Medical Center. Dr. Tooze practices general orthopaedics with a special interest in knee and hip disorders.
