I'm Going to Bayhealth For... Patient Visitation

Bayhealth offers convenient visiting hours for family and friends wishing to visit their hospitalized loved ones. To aid in the comfort and recuperation of our patients, Bayhealth asks that only two guests visit a bedside at a time. Additionally, we ask that visitors be 12 years or older, except when the hospital staff makes specific exceptions.

Kent General Hospital
Visitors may park in the main parking lot adjacent to the North Entrance. The Junior Board Hospitality Shop offers a large selection of flowers, cards, books and other gifts you may wish to bring to your friend or loved one. The shop is located on the first floor and is open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. seven days a week. For more information, call the Junior Board Hospitality Shop at (302) 744-7065.

Milford Memorial Hospital
Visitors may park in the main entrance parking lot on Kings Highway. The Reflections gift shop offers a large selection of flowers, cards, books and other gifts you may wish to bring to your friend or loved one. The shop is located on the first floor and is open from 8:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Pediatrics

  • General hours are 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Parents may visit any time between 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. One parent is encouraged to stay with the child outside of general visitation hours.
  • Siblings with parental supervision may visit from 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Visitation of siblings is discouraged at times due to patient's condition/diagnosis.

Birthing Suite

  • Fathers or labor coaches may visit only with the mother's invitation.

Women's Center

  • Father/significant other/grandparents/siblings may visit 24 hours a day. Visitation after 8:00 p.m. will be limited to short visits.
  • Friends, relatives and children over 12 may visit between 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • In rooms with only one patient, one adult person may spend the night. Siblings may not spend the night.
  • A responsible adult, other than the mother, must supervise siblings at all times. Siblings must be up-to-date on childhood immunizations (including chickenpox) and must not have been exposed to any contagious disease in the past two weeks.

Special Care Nursery

  • Parents, grandparents and siblings may visit at any time. Siblings may visit only if they have had the chickenpox vaccine and are not sick.
  • A parent must accompany family members and friends.
  • Viewing through nursery windows may be done only with parents' permission.

Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units

  • Please communicate visitation needs to the nurse.
  • Guests may visit 24 hours a day; however, we recommend families leave at 8:00 p.m.
  • Children under 12 are not allowed except under special circumstances.

Intermediate Care Unit

  • General hours are 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Children under 12 are not allowed except under special circumstances.

Emergency Department Treatment Area

  • After initial evaluation, patient may have one visitor at a time.
  • An adult is expected to stay at all times with minor child.
  • Visitors are not allowed in Trauma/Resuscitation Rooms without permission.
  • Children, other than those being seen by the doctor, are not allowed in the treatment area.

Regional Rehab

  • General hours are 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Family/caretaker involvement is encouraged at other times also.

Department of Psychiatry at St. Jones Center

  • Guests may visit patients in the Adult unit from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Seven days a week.
  • Guests may visit patients in the Child/Adolescent Unit from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Visitors may be limited or enhanced by the treatment team and patient preference.

Guest Relations
The mission of the Guest Relations Department is to provide customer-focused, compassionate service dedicated to solving customer problems and/or concerns quickly and effectively, as well as to provide individualized attention to the patient, family or visitor's situation and to be responsive to their expressed needs by providing a venue for information on programs, services or directional needs and/or patient advocacy.
