(HealthDay News) -- If you want to watch your weight and make sure you're eating healthy foods in healthy amounts, log what you eat in a food diary.
The Weight-loss Information Network says you should write down, in a computer, smartphone or journal:
Everything you ate and drank.
When and where you ate each item.
How much you ate of each item.
Why you ate each item.
Read through the diary to help determine what triggers you to eat too much, or why you eat foods that are unhealthy.
