Did You Know? Excessive drinking can raise your blood pressure, as well as harm your liver, brain and heart, says the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. If you drink, limit your alcohol to no more than one drink a day as a woman or older man, and no more than two drinks a day as a younger man. One drink is 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine or 1-1/2 ounces of 80-proof distilled liquor.
