Inside Tips From The HR Professionals
Always be candid, sell your skill sets, and never let somebody else fill in the blanks. Those are just some of the inside tips shared by Bayhealth human resources professionals on how to put the odds in your favor when trying to land your dream job.
“Be direct and be candid. Giving a less than honest response in a job interview will hurt your chances,” said Bayhealth Recruitment Manager Heather Myers.
“Never leave a question unanswered on a job application. If you leave a blank, you’ve missed an opportunity to share information about yourself,” said Human Resources Operations Manager Lauren Brittingham.
Other inside tips from the HR insiders:
Focus on selling your skill sets and how those skills sets will be benefit the employer. Also focus on how your soft skills will fit within the organization. A mix of the “right” skill sets can help you land the job you seek (“right” experience, “right” cultural fit, “right” attitude).
Research your prospective employer. Knowing details about the company can help you better understand how your skills benefit the employer. Expressing a genuine interest in specific aspects of the company is sure to impress!
Anticipate questions of your job interview in advance and rehearse your responses in advance with a friend or in front of a mirror.
Reiterate your interest in the job. Clearly explain why you are the best for the position.
