Bayhealth Grateful for Donation to Ronald Room

Thanks to the generosity of Hope United Methodist Church, Dover, visitors to the Ronald McDonald Room at Kent General Hospital won’t have to worry if they’ve forgotten to pack a toothbrush.

Kathy Farmer, Choir Director of the Hope Singers, visited Bayhealth Kent General to donate individually-packed bags containing a wide variety of personal hygiene items and toys for use by patient families. With her niece, Diana Gosnell, son, Tyler, and grandson, Preston, Farmer presented the gifts to Bayhealth Volunteer Coordinator Sharon Conley.

After the choir decided to pursue an outreach project this spring, members explored several options and eventually settled on the Ronald McDonald House. Gosnell, a human resources manager and public relations coordinator with a local McDonald’s franchisee, connected them to Bayhealth.

Both Farmer and Gosnell have friends who have benefited from the special care offered by the Ronald McDonald house and its associated Ronald Rooms.

“We are incredibly grateful for this donation, which will allow us to make our patient families more comfortable as they care for their children,” said Conley.
