Lake Forest High School’s Anti-Tobacco Initiative

Supported by a grant from the Delaware Division of Public Health, students at Lake Forest High School have introduced a year-long series of events and games hoping to convince their peers to stay away from tobacco.

They work in conjunction with the Bayhealth Wellness Center at Lake Forest.

As members of the Business Professionals of America, these students bring a unique perspective to their work with anti-tobacco programs. They plan special activities and events linked to national celebrations like The Great American Smokeout, held on the third Thursday of November each year.

Successes this fall have included Lake Forest Homecoming Parade, I Love Lake Forest Day and Haunted Hallways. Also on the agenda is a pep rally with a no-smoking game.
