Thanks to a kind donation from the Delaware Farm Bureau, the cupboards in the Ronald McDonald Room at Bayhealth Kent General have been filled with hearty, comforting food for our patient families.
Mary Gooden, a member of the Delaware Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, said that the group is committed to helping their communities.
“We know this food will help people in need. This donation is one of many programs we do at the Farm Bureau that we hope make a difference for our communities,” Gooden said.
Since 1999, the Farm Bureau has contributed to Bayhealth’s Ronald Room as part of the American Farm Bureau’s annual Food Check-Out Week. During this week, Farm Bureaus nationwide help teach their communities about cost-effective meal preparation and the value of local foods.
This week also highlights the partnership between the Farm Bureau and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
