Weather-Related Closures and Changes at Bayhealth

With freezing temperatures continuing across central and southern Delaware, Bayhealth announces some closures and cancelation of elective surgeries for Monday, Jan. 26. This message will be updated by 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26 should changes need to be made to keep our patients, team members and clinicians safe.

  • All Bayhealth Medical Group practices and Bayhealth specialty practices are closed on Jan. 26.

  • All Bayhealth Outpatient Services are closed on Jan. 26.

  • All Outpatient Services provided at our main Bayhealth Kent and Sussex Campuses are closed including Imaging, Lab, Oncology, Outpatient Therapies (including Cardiac, Pulmonary & Vascular Rehabilitation), Wound Care, Medical Infusion and Maternal Fetal Medicine.

  • Bayhealth Occupational Health, Blue Hen and Milford are closed.

  • Bayhealth Walk-In, Blue Hen and Milford are closed.

  • The Bayhealth Childcare Center will remain open and is fully operational.

  • All elective surgeries are canceled at the Kent and Sussex campuses, including the Surgery Center, on Jan. 26. Inpatient surgeries will be performed as planned. Our teams have notified patients. If patients have questions, they should contact their surgeon’s office.

  • New Team Member Orientation is happening as planned and has moved to a virtual format.

  • Bayhealth Billing Support Office is closed on Jan. 26. Patients with questions about billing may visit Bayhealth.org/Patients/Billing. For ways to pay bills, please visit Bayhealth.org/Patients/Billing/Payment-Methods. You may also call and leave a message for our team.

Team members across Bayhealth are notifying patients of these late openings and may offer alternatives to in-person appointments such as telehealth and rescheduling appointments.

Our hospitals and emergency departments will remain open to care for patients. This includes our Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus; Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus; Bayhealth Emergency and Urgent Care Center, Total Care; and Bayhealth Smyrna Emergency Department.

Bayhealth also offers a virtual urgent care option called Bayhealth@Home. The mobile app may be used from any location. Direct patients to visit Bayhealth.org/VUC to learn more.
