OB Hospitalist Program at Milford Memorial

Bayhealth’s clinical team at Milford Memorial Birth INN and Beyond includes specially trained physicians called hospitalists. These physicians specialize in caring for the unique needs of hospitalized patients. Each hospitalist is board certified and come with years of OB experience.

Specialists with the OB Hospitalist Program at Bayhealth Milford Memorial provide onsite care for obstetrics and gynecology patients, 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year to ensure that every expectant mother is evaluated and treated regardless of time, location, complication or circumstance.

While many obstetricians divide their time between their office and the hospital, this program features hospital-based doctors focused solely on providing care to patients in the labor and delivery unit, as well as those facing emergency situations. These physicians provide enhanced coverage and a critical communication network for OB/GYNs in our community.

When you arrive at Labor and Delivery, the OB/GYN hospitalist will:

  • Coordinate care with your primary physician
  • Evaluate the progress of your labor
  • Review test results and fetal heart rate tracings
  • Stay on top of any problems that may be evolving
  • Ensure a safe delivery for you and your baby
