Ballin' for Blood

Register to donate blood using the form below!

For the second consecutive year, Bayhealth has teamed up with Delaware State University (DSU) Athletics and Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) to host Ballin’ for Blood—an initiative intended to raise awareness of the importance of giving blood and to help save lives by increasing the blood supply in our local communities.

Ballin’ for Blood 2023 tips-off on Saturday, Jan. 28 with the DSU basketball double header against Morgan State University (women at 2 p.m., men at 4 p.m.), and continues with the Ballin' for Blood Drive on Wednesday, Feb. 1 from 12-6 p.m. on Bayhealth Court in Memorial Hall Gym (1200 N. DuPont Hwy., Dover).

Here’s what you need to know:

The first 20 people who register on Jan. 28 (Ballin' for Blood game day!) for the Feb. 1 drive are eligible to win a $500 Visa gift card. (You must follow through with your donation to be eligible to win.)

  • Bayhealth will be in the gym on Jan. 28 cheering on our Hornets and giving away Ballin' for Blood and #HereForOurHornets swag. (while supplies last)

If you can't make it to the Jan. 28 games you can still register to donate at the Ballin' for Blood Drive on Feb. 1. Everyone who donates at the Feb. 1 drive will:

  • Receive a $10 Chick-fil-A gift card upon donation
  • Be entered to win a $500 gift card. Double your chances by posting about why you donated at the Ballin' for Blood Drive, tagging @Bayhealth, and using #Ballin4Blood!
  • Help save up to three lives!

Anyone can register to donate blood at the Ballin' for Blood Drive. Community members are welcome as well as DSU students, staff and alumni!

If you can't make it to the Feb. 1 drive but still want to donate, visit the BBD website to find a drive near you.
