Supporting Pregnancy and Infant Loss Bereavement Services

Friday, September 27, 2019 | Women's & Children's

In recognition of Perinatal Loss Remembrance Month, Bayhealth will be participating in the second annual Footsteps for Maddie 5K on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Killen’s Pond State Park.

Proceeds after expenses are donated to Bayhealth by the local nonprofit organization, Footsteps for Maddie, who organizes and hosts the event. The money is used to help fund bereavement services that support patients and families who have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss and for related education and training for staff.

Bayhealth’s Bereavement Team will also have mailboxes available at the 5K for families to send a “letter to heaven” for their loved one if they wish.
