Clinical Engineering Supports Ventilator Refurbishment With Bloom Energy

Tuesday, April 14, 2020 | COVID-19

Bayhealth’s Clinical Engineering (CE) department is supporting Bloom Energy with its refurbishment of hundreds of ventilators for the State of Delaware.

According to Bayhealth Clinical Engineering Technician III Matt Burritt, CBET, some Bloom Energy employees brought a couple of the ventilators to Bayhealth and then he and other CE team members taught them how to use the equipment that tests the devices to make sure they’re working properly.

“It’s nice to be a part of something that could help a lot of people and also to help the state,” said Burritt. “It was very rewarding to be part of that process.”

The project began at the beginning of the week and the ventilators were back to the state’s warehouse by the weekend.
