Bayhealth Sussex Campus Prepares to Celebrate One Year Anniversary

February 5, 2020 marks the one year anniversary of the opening of the Bayhealth Sussex Campus. It’s also the one year anniversary of the day patients were moved from Bayhealth Milford Memorial to Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus.

Over the past year, the community celebrated many milestones including: the first patient moved; the birth of the first baby; the first surgery; the first patient in the specialty clinics; the first oncology patient; the first 100 days; the first Festival of Trees; the opening of the Interventional Suite and the list goes on.

The Bayhealth Sussex Campus also celebrated its first expansion project as a Topping Out Ceremony was held across the street at 101 Wellness Way for the Nemours Sussex Campus. At the event, Nemours team members joined Bayhealth team members in celebrating the expansion of pediatric care closer to home. Attendees signed the final steel beam and watched as it was lifted into place. The facility will be fully open to the public in November 2020.

The new year will bring more excitement to the community as Bayhealth continues to grow in southern Delaware. 

Support the Bayhealth/Nemours Partnership

The financial commitment of Bayhealth and Nemours to build, outfit and prepare the facility is over $35 million. Nemours and Bayhealth will embark on a joint campaign to further engage the community through philanthropy, with the goal of raising critical funds to support the building as well as the expanded pediatric services and programs that Nemours will provide within it.

Donors can choose to make a gift or pledge that will be:

• Equally split between Bayhealth and Nemours
• Directed to Bayhealth in support of their capital investment in the building
• Directed to Nemours in support of their investment in the services and related equipment capital that will be offered at the facility
