Welcome to the Bayhealth Family Medicine Residency Program.
Since our program launched in 2021, we have provided more than 30,000 patient care visits in the Dover, Delaware area. When we first envisioned starting a residency program, we asked ourselves: What resident experiences will help shape the kind of physician we admire?
With that in mind, our program focuses on innovative training to prepare family medicine physicians to meet future healthcare challenges.
Our residents develop strong leadership skills to become the best possible advocates for their patients. They practice these skills throughout residency, using their clinical expertise to serve those in our community who need it most. Through a variety of experiences, we know our residents will make a meaningful impact.
Bayhealth’s Family Medicine Residency Program is an 8-8-8 program that offers a comprehensive scope of training. Our graduates are well-prepared to practice all aspects of family medicine, including inpatient and outpatient care across all ages, office-based procedures, and even point-of-care ultrasound. At our state-of-the-art outpatient practice, residents have the opportunity to lead quality improvement projects and contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance patient care.
