John Fink, MD, Bayhealth’s vice president for Quality and Medical Staff, joined the community in celebrating frontline workers on April 28 at City Hall Council Chambers in Dover, Del. Mayor Robin Christansen declared May 2025 as Frontline Worker Appreciation Month for the city of Dover with a proclamation presentation at the city council meeting. This resolution honors the dedication and sacrifices of healthcare workers, firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical service personnel and teachers who play vital roles in the community.

Dr. Fink accepted this proclamation on behalf of all frontline workers for their contributions to the community. “We share a commitment and a calling to serve our neighbors and communities. I am deeply honored to accept this proclamation on behalf of all frontline workers, whose unwavering dedication, courage and compassion continue to inspire us all,” said Dr. Fink.

Each year, more than 9 million healthcare professionals across the U.S. selflessly risk their health and safety to deliver lifesaving care and support to those in need. At Bayhealth alone, nearly 4,000 dedicated team members—including over 450 physicians and 200 advanced practice clinicians—work tirelessly to serve the community with excellence and compassion. This proclamation not only recognizes their critical role, but also underscores the collective strength and resilience of all frontline workers.
