Bayhealth Applauds 2025 Delaware Today Top Nurses and Honorees

Bayhealth proudly celebrates its outstanding nurses recognized at the 2025 Delaware Today Excellence in Nursing Awards. This year, three of our exceptional team members were named Top Nurses in their respective categories, with an additional 106 Bayhealth nurses recognized for their excellence in care.

As a Magnet®-recognized organization committed to nursing leadership and high standards, Bayhealth actively encourages team members to highlight the incredible work of their peers. Nurses from across the system were nominated and celebrated across 20 categories, with the following individuals honored as Top Nurses:

• Nina Pletsch, MSN, RN, NI-BC, CPAN – Information & Technology
• Korinne Roach, BSN, RN, CPN – Ambulatory Care Nursing
• Yolanda Simpson, LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse

These Top Nurses come from diverse backgrounds, clinical specialties and career paths—but what unites them is their shared dedication to improving patient care and making a lasting impact in their communities.

With 20 years of dedicated service as a Bayhealth nurse, Top Nurse Korinne Roach has consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment to her patients, team members and community. “I am deeply grateful and honored to be recognized by my peers as a Top Nurse. As clinical coordinator in Day Surgery, I have the unique opportunity to support both my patients and my team,” she shared. “I love being a nurse because I truly love helping and educating patients. It's a privilege to care, comfort and advocate for others during some of their most vulnerable moments.”

Bayhealth Chief Nurse Executive Rosi Wurster DNP, RN, MPH, NEA-BC, CEN, shared deep appreciation for the nursing staff and their unwavering dedication to excellence. “Working with this outstanding team of Magnet® nurses is truly an honor,” she said. “Their empathy, determination and clinical expertise are truly inspiring. Recognizing their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. I’m also thankful to Delaware Today for consistently shining a light on the hard work and commitment of nurses throughout our state.”
