Visitation Policy Updates

Visitation Policy Update

Tuesday, September 30, 2025 |

Bayhealth updated its visitation policy, effective October 1, 2025, to better support the comfort, healing and well-being of its patients. The updated policy promotes a more inclusive, flexible environment for patients and their loved ones, while maintaining a safe and supportive atmosphere throughout all Bayhealth facilities.

The new policy includes:

  • Children of any age may visit, provided minors under 16 are accompanied by an adult.
  • Patients may now have up to two visitors at a time during the designated visiting hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Minors are not counted toward this two-visitor limit, offering more flexibility for families.
  • Care partners, as designated by the patient, will continue to have open, unrestricted access to visit their loved one at any time.

Mother/Baby, Emergency Department and other units within Bayhealth may have specific visitation policies in addition to these. Patients are encouraged to speak with their care team for more information.

These updates align with Bayhealth’s mission to provide a compassionate, healing environment that supports patient recovery and strengthens family involvement in the care process.

Bayhealth encourages all patients and visitors to review the full visitation policy on the Bayhealth website or speak with a team member upon arrival for more information.
