Bayhealth Go Pink Campaign Raises Nearly $50,000, Delivers Free Screenings and Community Support
Bayhealth’s annual Go Pink! campaign delivered a message of hope by raising nearly $50,000 through T-shirt sales and bringing care directly into neighborhoods across Kent and Sussex counties through a series of mobile, community-based events.
Bayhealth will share the proceeds from T-shirt sales with Go Pink! Premier Partner Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC). Both organizations will leverage the funds to further expand breast cancer education, outreach and patient support services across Delaware.
New this year, the T-shirt fundraiser was accompanied by a series of community events designed to remove barriers to care while addressing broader community needs. Collectively, the four mobile events provided a total of 35 free breast cancer screenings in Bayhealth’s mobile health unit. Two stops also included food distribution in partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware supporting more than 500 individuals and reinforcing Bayhealth’s commitment to whole-person care.
By combining free screenings, education, food assistance and community partnerships in a mobile setting, the mobile events brought the campaign’s message of hope directly to those who needed it most.
“Go Pink! is about meeting people where they are and offering hope through action,” shared Executive Director, Bayhealth Cancer Institute and Senior Director, Oncology Service Line John Shevock, FACHE, FACMPE. “These mobile events reflect our commitment to making preventive care accessible while supporting the overall well-being of our community.”
