Bayhealth Welcomes Thomas (Mac) Marlow as Vice President, Chief Digital and Information Officer

Bayhealth, central and southern Delaware’s largest health system, has named Thomas (Mac) Marlow, MBA, PMP, CHCIO, CDH-E, PMP, ITIL, CSM, as its newly appointed vice president, chief digital and information officer. His first official day with Bayhealth was Jan. 5.

Marlow joins Bayhealth from University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where he served as associate vice president of technology operations and Southwestern Health Resources (SWHR) in Farmers Branch, Texas, where he served as the chief information officer. UTSW is a public academic health science center with more than 25,000 employees and 3,200 full-time faculty while SWHR is an industry leading Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) with more than 700,000 eligible beneficiaries.

Mac brings the experience and vision needed to help us achieve operational excellence through thoughtful optimization of Epic and our ERP systems, responsible use of AI and early adoption of innovative technologies  all implemented in a safe, meaningful way that keeps our patients at the center of everything we do.”

In his new role with Bayhealth, Marlow will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing oversight of information technology strategy with a focus on innovation, digital integration and operational advancement across the health system. He will lead enterprise technology platforms, data and analytics, cybersecurity and IT operations, while partnering closely with clinical and operational leaders to modernize workflows, strengthen digital touchpoints and support a more seamless patient experience. His leadership will help position Bayhealth as an early adopter of emerging technologies, advancing care delivery and organizational efficiency while maintaining a strong commitment to security, reliability and patient-first innovation.

Marlow earned his bachelors of interdisciplinary studies at Virigina Tech and his master of business administration from Averett University. He is actively engaged in several national professional organizations that advance leadership, innovation and best practices in healthcare and information technology. His affiliations include the American College of Healthcare Executives, Information Systems Audit and Control Association, College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. He holds the Certified Digital Health Executive and Certified Healthcare Chief Information Officer credentials and is a Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. In addition, he served as chairperson of the Healthcare Management Program Advisory Board at Jefferson College of Health Sciences, reflecting his commitment to professional development, education and the future of healthcare leadership.
