Abhishek Agnihotri, MD

Abhishek Agnihotri, MD, is a gastroenterologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating digestive system conditions and performing standard and advanced, minimally invasive endoscopy procedures.

As the son of a gastroenterologist, Dr. Agnihotri had a strong role model in his father after deciding he wanted to pursue medicine. He was fascinated by the complexity of gastroenterology and the opportunity to be at the forefront by training in the most advanced procedures in the field.

Dr. Agnihotri further developed his expertise at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, a leading center for advanced endoscopy in our region. He performs minimally invasive procedures that test for and treat a broad range of gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. These include endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) for addressing problems of the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, and other parts of the GI tract. He also performs stent placement in the GI tract. He has been trained in the latest techniques, such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) to remove complex polyps and early cancers, peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) to treat a disorder of the esophagus that impacts swallowing, and endoscopic bariatric procedures for weight loss.

His philosophy of treating each patient as if they were his own family member guides Dr. Agnihotri’s daily work. He is dedicated to maintaining his knowledge on the most cutting-edge research in his field. This allows him to offer innovative and tailored solutions to meet patients’ needs—no matter how simple or complicated—for improved digestive health and a better quality of life.

In his spare time, Dr. Agnihotri loves hiking with his wife, who is also a physician. He enjoys running and is an avid cricket fan and player.
