About
My Inspiration
I chose surgical oncology because I wanted to work in a field that is strongly evidence‑based, allows me to perform a wide variety of surgeries and gives me the opportunity to build a practice that empowers women. Supporting patients through some of the most pivotal moments in their lives is a privilege which inspires my work every day.
One of the most fulfilling moments in my career is making the call after surgery to tell a patient they are now cancer‑free. Sharing their joy and celebration reminds me why this specialty is my purpose.
What I’m Passionate About
I’m passionate about prevention and early detection, particularly through genetic testing. I am certified in cancer genetic risk assessment and am committed to helping patients understand inherited cancer risks so they can make informed decisions about their health.
I care deeply about providing a patient-centered, evidence-based experience for my patients in the office and the best possible outcomes for my patients in the operating room. I break down the latest data and research for my patients in clinic when we discuss the risks and benefits of their surgical, imaging and genetic testing choices. I also leverage the latest technology and innovation to make Bayhealth a center of excellence for breast cancer and melanoma surgery including the full spectrum of reconstructive options.
Off the Clock
Outside of medicine, I’m a cell phone photographer, writer, hiker and content creator. I moved to Delaware with my husband and our two Siamese cats who bring plenty of personality to our home.
My Commitment to You
I am committed to making my patients feel heard, helping them understand their options and empowering them to make the decision which is right for them. Cancer treatment is not a one-size-fits-all and approaching every patient with empathy and compassion is my commitment to you.
