Darshdeep Singh, DO

Darshdeep “Ishu” Singh DO, MS, is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in surgeries of the hands and upper limbs.

When Dr. Singh was a teenager, he enjoyed flipping through his mother’s nursing books. This piqued his interest in pursuing medicine. He discovered a passion for orthopedic surgery during his medical school rotations, one of which was with an orthopedic surgeon in California. This physician became an influential mentor in shaping Dr. Singh’s passion and talent in the field.

After completion of his fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Dr. Singh moved to Delaware with his family. As an orthopedic surgeon, he enjoys helping patients who are suffering from a serious orthopedic injury, or are dealing with daily aches and pains, to see them through their journey to better health and an improved quality of life.

Dr. Singh carefully listens to patients to best understand their medical problem and circumstances. Once a diagnosis has been made, he clearly explains their condition and describes options for treatment and what to expect. These are key components in his philosophy of carrying out patient-centered care to meet the needs of every patient he sees.

Dr. Singh is highly experienced in performing a range of hand surgeries to treat fractures, tendon injuries, cancers and growths, nerve injuries, and Dupuytren's disease. He was the first surgeon in Delaware to do ultrasound-guided carpal tunnel release— a minimally invasive procedure that offers smaller incisions and quicker recovery for patients to get back to their normal activities.

He enjoys filling his free time with fitness, painting, traveling, and being with his family.
