About

Fiza Khan, MD, is a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist.

During Dr. Khan’s upbringing, she began to notice the stigma around mental health and wanted to become a psychiatrist to offer help and work to overcome that stigma.

She’s always loved kids, so deciding to specialize in working with children and teens was a natural fit for her. She completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at one of the top children’s hospitals, Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C.

Dr. Khan strives to connect with each patient by first meeting them on their level—that may mean sitting with a young child on the floor, or explaining things in simpler and relatable ways. She has seen the difference that early intervention can make with children or teens struggling with a mental health condition—the sooner they can get the support they need, the better the outcome.

Dr. Khan is passionate about developing strong partnerships with her patients and their families, to make a positive difference in everyone’s life. She is skilled in medication management and assists families with coordination of school resources and referrals for others needed services.

She treats a wide range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), high-functioning autism, and other neurodevelopmental and mood disorders.

Outside of work, Dr. Khan cherishes family time with her husband, who is also a Bayhealth physician, and their two young daughters. She also loves shopping, traveling, cooking and finding new recipes for her family to enjoy.
