About
After his medical training, Dr. Connor honed his skills through a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware and then continued on their medical staff as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with the Neuromuscular Division. He led the orthopedic branch of the Spina Bifida Program and was an interpreting physician in their nationally accredited Gait Lab, one of only seven in the country that focus on the study of children’s movement and walking patterns to diagnose and better treat the conditions that impact their mobility.
Having recognized years ago the lack of orthopedic care for children and those affected by neuromuscular disorders in southern Delaware, Dr. Connor has geared his practice toward serving this critical need. He provides adult transitional services for those with pediatric neuromuscular disorders that are no longer eligible to receive care from pediatric providers as they age. These conditions, such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy and complex abnormalities that affect the ability to move or walk, are often diagnosed at birth and require specialized care and treatment. He takes pride in instilling a sense of hope in children and their families in what they are and will be able to do despite any physical limitations, and he motivates and works with his patients to achieve that.
Dr. Connor is a current member of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America and the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. He also serves on the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware, Inc.
