Kaitlyn Melnick, MD

Kaitlyn Melnick, MD, is a neurosurgeon who specializes in diagnosing and treating disorders of the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord.

As a high school student, Dr. Melnick knew she wanted to be a doctor and discovered her passion for neurosurgery during medical school. She is humbled to care for the full range of neurosurgery patients including the elderly with arthritis of the spine, young active patients with herniated discs, patients with life-threatening brain hemorrhages and those with life-altering brain tumors.

Dr. Melnick completed her neurosurgery residency in Gainesville, Florida prior to joining Bayhealth. As a University of Delaware graduate and Dover local, she knew she wanted to return to the area where she grew up to serve the community.

Her thorough and comprehensive approach shines through when caring for patients. Her emphasis on patient education allows them to make the most informed and educated decision for their care.

Dr. Melnick enjoys research and has been published in several medical journal articles throughout her career. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Melnick enjoys mentoring medical students and residents. She looks forward to sharing her passion for Neurosurgery in her new position at Bayhealth.
