Explorers Program

In partnership with the Del-Mar-Va Council of Boy Scouts, Bayhealth hosts a Healthcare Explorers program at each campus that provides high school students ages 14 to 20 the opportunity to learn more about careers in healthcare. Students must have completed eighth grade to participate in the program.

There are nine meetings throughout the school year, one per month beginning in September. Each meeting consists of a briefing and a tour based on that month's area of exploration. All interested students are invited to participate in this very valuable learning experience!

Areas of exploration include:

Radiology, Oncology, Imaging, Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Speech Therapy, Special Care Nursery, Respiratory Care, Physical Therapy, Forensic Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Wound Care Center, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Neurosurgery, Sleep Lab, Vascular Access

The cost for the 2020-2021 membership is $50. Please make checks payable to Bayhealth Foundation. All paperwork and payment must be received in order for a spot to be reserved. The Kent Campus program will be capped at 80 students and the Sussex Campus program will be capped at 35 students.
