Clinician Nexus

All current and prospective students in our Nursing & Allied Health Student Program must set up a Clinician Nexus account, which Bayhealth uses to schedule and clear students.

New to Clinician Nexus?

If you have not used Clinician Nexus before, please first contact your clinical coordinator or our Nursing and Allied Health Student Program Coordinator to begin the process.

  1. A point person from your school will need to be selected. Our coordinator will then reach out to Clinician Nexus to have your school and point person added to the system.

  2. Once added, our coordinator will send an “agreement” to your point person for approval. This is Clinician Nexus’ way of confirming our affiliation and allowing our coordinator to choose your school when creating opportunities.

  3. Now, you’ll get started on Clinician Nexus.

Getting Started and Applying

The following steps outline how to apply through Clinician Nexus.

  1. Your school should send a “Student by Instructor (SBI)” form to our coordinator. The form should be submitted at least four weeks prior to your clinical start date so that you have time to complete all requirements. Please note: You must submit an SBI form for each rotation you are completing.

  2. Next, our coordinator will create an externship opportunity in Clinician Nexus and schedule you for it. You should receive an invitation in your school email that prompts you to log in and complete your onboarding requirements. Failure to complete all pre-placement requirements could result in having your start date pushed back.

  3. Once you have completed your clearance requirements, our coordinator will email you. If applicable, you will be scheduled for EPIC training and nursing orientation. Bayhealth employees should contact our coordinator to see if training is required.

These steps are required of all students, including our employees. For more information on setting up your account, see this step-by-step guide.
