She recently received her PhD in Nursing at the George Washington University. Her research explored racial microaggressions among nurses, and how experiencing workplace racial microaggressions impacted nurses’ ability to deliver safe, quality patient care to children, and negatively impacted RN job satisfaction and wellness. She was the nursing lead in the development and implementation of a novel, simulation-based curriculum, the Interprofessional Debrief on Racism, Equity, and Microaggressions (I-DREAM). She is currently planning an interprofessional simulation-based curriculum entitled Simulation Addressing Verbal Escalation (SAVE) Training, which focuses on de-escalating parents/ caregivers applying a lens for equity. |
