15th Annual Nursing Research Conference

Harvesting Knowledge through Research & Evidence-Based Practice 

Bayhealth’s Nursing Research & Evidence-Based Practice Council presents Bayhealth’s 15th Annual Nursing Research Conference. It will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bayhealth Simulation Center Conference Room at the Kent Campus and virtually via WebEx.

Anyone interested in research is encouraged to attend. The conference is free to all Bayhealth team members and registration is required through HealthStream. The conference is also free for nursing students. The fee for all other non-Bayhealth employees is $40.

The registration deadline is Nov. 22.

3.5 nursing contact hours are awarded for this conference. Registrants must remain for the entire time to receive nursing contact hours.

Poster Submissions Welcome

Anyone who has completed a research, evidence based practice or quality improvement project in the last year is invited to submit a poster to be presented at the conference. Email you abstract to Sylvia Stubbs at Sylvia_Stubbs@Bayhealth.org or Sara Faulkner at Sara_Faulkner@Bayhealth.org by Oct. 13 to be considered.

Kristen Callaghan is a Nursing Professional Development Specialist for the Patient & Family Health Education team at ChristianaCare. She has been with ChristianaCare for 11 years, working in roles as a student nurse extern, acute care medical nurse, and a nursing professional development specialist. Her current role focuses on patient education content curation and vendor relationships. She has received her MSN in Nursing Innovation from Drexel University with a post-baccalaureate certificate in Leadership and Health Systems Management. She is board certified in Medical Surgical Nursing and Nursing Professional Development, as well as a Certified Usability Analyst. She holds two micro-credentials as a health literacy specialist in communication and organizational systems and policies.

Amanda Joie ChristianaCare

Amanda Joie is a Nursing Professional Development Specialist for Patient & Family Health Education at ChristianaCare. Amanda began her career with ChristianaCare in direct patient care on a cardiac step-down unit. She received her MSN in nursing leadership with a concentration in education from Wilmington University. Amanda is board certified as a cardiac vascular nurse and nursing professional development specialist. She also has a micro-credential as a health literacy specialist in organization systems and policies. Amanda has 9 years of experience with ChristianaCare. As a primary function of her role, she focuses on all aspects of patient education throughout the system aiming to achieve optimal organizational health literacy.

Greg O'Neill ChristianaCare 

Greg O’Neill, MSN, APRN, AGCNS-BC, NPD-BC, Director, Patient and Family Health Education/Nursing Professional Development, ChristianaCare

Greg O’Neill is the Director of Patient & Family Health Education at ChrisitanaCare. He leads the strategic plan for patient education and health literacy initiatives at this organization. After moving on from direct patient care as a trauma/surgical ICU nurse, Greg has developed a team of Nursing Professional Development Specialists who champion health literacy best practices system-wide and support all patient education initiatives and vendor relationships. Greg has been with ChristianaCare for 14 years and received his MSN as a CNS from the University of Delaware.
