Clinical Trials

The Bayhealth Clinical Research Program upholds a commitment to providing progressive cancer treatment—now, and for years to come.

Our clinical trials test cutting-edge drugs, procedures and technologies with the purpose of establishing new or better ways of treating cancer. Participating in a research study gives you the chance to receive the latest treatment approach for your condition. It also provides you the opportunity to contribute to the future of cancer care by helping our researchers gain a better understanding of your condition and how to treat it. Speak with a nurse in our Clinical Research Program about eligibility for clinical trials.

What Are Clinical Trials?

Clinical trials come in many shapes and sizes. Some test new treatment approaches in comparison to standard approaches already available—while others compare existing treatments in order to measure their effectiveness. Clinical studies can also help experts to better understand the different ways cancer develops in individuals based on such factors as gender, race and ethnicity. Some clinical trials provide experimental treatments for patients whose conditions aren’t responding to current methods. Historically, clinical research has contributed to the creation of world-changing medical therapies and vaccines.
