Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Michael J. Tretina, CPA, MBA, FHFMA, FACHE, is senior vice president & chief financial officer. He leads finance, accounting, reimbursement, budgeting, decision support, treasury management, information systems, and revenue cycle areas including (patient access services, patient accounting, managed care and health information management). Tretina is also president of the Bayhealth Development Corporation. He also serves as a board member on many of the Bayhealth joint ventures including Bayada at Bayhealth, Post-Acute Medical LLC and Clinergy.
Prior to his role at Bayhealth, Tretina was vice president and chief financial officer at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA. He has held various other leadership positions at Saint Vincent’s Health System in Jacksonville, FL, Baptist/St. Vincent’s in Jacksonville Florida and the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
A fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, he also served as a Board member of the HFMA Florida and Iowa chapters. In addition, Tretina is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Having received a BS in accounting from the Pennsylvania State University, he went on to earn an MBA at LaSalle University. He has shared his knowledge through teaching positions at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL, and Webster University in St. Louis, MO. As a board member of Easterseals Delaware & Maryland's Eastern Shore, he currently shares his insight and talent to support the organization in helping people living with autism and other disabilities.
Tretina has the honor of being recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review, named nine times on the annual 150 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know list.
