As Vice President and Chief Digital and Information Officer, Thomas (Mac) Marlow, MBA, PMP, CHCIO, CDH-E, ITIL, CSM, serves as a member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic oversight of information technology, digital innovation and enterprise systems across the health system.

Mac brings a strong commitment to Bayhealth’s mission and values, with a leadership approach grounded in kindness, relationships and meaningful partnerships. He is strategically minded, with a disciplined focus on prioritizing needs over wants and driving operational excellence in how Bayhealth shows up for patients, clinicians and team members. His work centers on creating frictionless experiences—making it easier for patients to access the care and information they need and enabling staff to perform at their highest level by reducing barriers and streamlining workflows.

Before joining Bayhealth, Mac served as Associate Vice President of Technology Operations at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and as Chief Information Officer for Southwestern Health Resources, a leading clinically integrated network and accountable care organization serving more than 700,000 beneficiaries. His experience spans large, complex healthcare environments where technology plays a critical role in care delivery, data-driven decision-making and patient engagement.

In his role at Bayhealth, Mac leads enterprise technology platforms, data and analytics, cybersecurity and IT operations, while partnering closely with clinical and operational leaders to modernize workflows, strengthen digital touchpoints and responsibly adopt emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. He is passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems and to serve the community where he lives and works—always with patients at the center.

Mac earned his bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Virginia Tech and his Master of Business Administration from Averett University. He is actively engaged in national healthcare and technology organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, CHIME, HIMSS, ISACA and PMI, and holds multiple industry-recognized credentials. He has also served as chairperson of the Healthcare Management Program Advisory Board at Jefferson College of Health Sciences, reflecting his commitment to professional development, education and mentorship.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Mac is deeply committed to giving back. He enjoys mentoring emerging business and technology professionals and is passionate about eradicating cancer and preventing suicide. His family has fostered children for many years, reinforcing his belief in providing stability and care for others. This commitment to service extends to his involvement with community organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.

Outside of work, Mac brings high energy and balance to his leadership, guided by what he calls the four Fs: faith, family, fitness and fun. These values shape how he leads teams, builds culture and approaches his work in service of Bayhealth’s patients and communities.
